Oregon Puts Out State Warning To Stay Out Of The Water
Photo’s by katu
The State of Oregon has put out a warning to stay out of the water due to lakes and rivers having blue green algae that has killed one dog and maybe three other dogs.
Dog will have symptoms of vomiting, diarrhea and seizures from having contact with this toxic water, let alone it’s not good for humans either.
Taken from DNR of Wisconsin:
Blue-green algae, also known as Cyanobacteria, are a group of photosynthetic bacteria that many people refer to as "pond scum." Blue-green algae are most often blue-green in color, but can also be blue, green, reddish-purple, or brown. Blue-green algae generally grow in lakes, ponds, and slow-moving streams when the water is warm and enriched with nutrients like phosphorus or nitrogen.
Just looking at the water is enough to make you sick, the problem is dogs don’t know better. So we need to watch our dogs when they are out running near a lake or river to be sure it’s safe.

That is really scary to know that this can kill dogs and probably people too. Thanks for sharing this.
