Debarking Your Dog ?

Why would you debark your dog just to please your landlord from throwing you out? I couldn't imagine why anyone would do this to their dog because they had to make a choice to stay or move.

There is a poll going on whether or not to have this done here. There is a lot of heated discussion going on, on this topic which I feel is wrong to do to a dog no matter what.
