Who's Going To Win The Dirty Dog Contest Sponsored By Wahl And GreaterGood.org

WAHL REVEALS BEST SHELTER DOG MAKEOVERS IN AMERICA

 – Pet grooming leader partners with GreaterGood to put new face on adoption –

More than 8 million dogs enter shelters each year, and a vast majority of them are dirty and matted. Unfortunately, less than half of these dogs are getting the grooming they need so their lovable, adoptable selves can shine through.

That’s why Wahl and GreaterGood.org have teamed up with shelters nationwide to demonstrate how the transformative power of grooming can help shelter dogs find their forever home.

Introducing the Dirty Dogs Before & After Gallery

“When it comes to pet adoption, a first impression is crucial in determining if an animal will find a family,” says Shay Moeller, pet product manager for Wahl. “By providing pet shelters with the grooming supplies they need we can demonstrate that the same animals often perceived to be 'damaged goods' are actually healthy, fun loving pets deserving of a new home.”

It’s this mission that has motivated Wahl over the past four years. To date, the company’s donation of all-natural pet shampoos has helped shelters clean up more than 50,000 dogs. And with the help of these shelters, hundreds of amazing transformations have been captured through photos and compiled into the Dirty Dogs Before & After Gallery.
What makes this gallery unique is that visitors can view each animal as they arrived at their shelter, and after they were cleaned up. They can also search for adoptable dogs in their area, and learn more about their stories. What’s more, social media integration makes it easy for visitors to share a dog with friends or join a conversation already started.

Top 10 Transformations Compete in Dirty Dogs Contest
To promote the gallery, Wahl is launching the fourth annual Dirty Dogs Contest. Ten of the most dramatic transformations from the gallery have been selected to participate in the contest, and public votes will determine the top three winners. The animal shelters or rescue groups affiliated with these transformations will receive monetary grants to further support their efforts. First place takes home $5,000, second place receives $2,000 and third place earns $1,000.
The Dirty Dogs Contest runs from July 6-19, 2015. To vote for one of the shelters, visit the Wahl Pets Facebook Page. Winners will be announced on July 20, 2015. For information about Wahl or Wahl's pet grooming products, visit WahlPets.com or follow Wahl Pets on Facebook and Twitter.
