That what the owner would like to know when someone stole their white Chevy cargo van with a CA license plate number- 8D50252 that had four show dogs in it.

These weren’t just any kind of dogs, these show dog were supposed to be worth five hundred G’s.

Two Dog nappers named Rickey Butler and Andrew Cole from California tried to extort five hundred dollars for a dog owner from Van Nuys for his missing dog Pongo.

Well now these two lowlifes are being charged with felony count of attempted extortion instead of being honest and returning the lost dog to its owner.

The San Luis Animal Welfare group is looking for your help in finding these little ten week old Husky- Pit bull that was taken during a pet adoption at the North Academy Petsmart in Colorado Springs.

Yes this little dog is so beautiful, but to just steal the dog is wrong and I hope they find the person that did this.

A little eight week old Jack Russell–Pug that was stolen from a pet store in Delran, PA by two women that fled away in a van must have gotten a conscience because they had someone bring the puppy into the local Police.

I wonder why they just didn’t go to the local animal shelter and rescue a dog there first. Hopefully this little pooch is fine from the ordeal of the dog napping.

The Golden Retriever-Collie Darry that went missing in Colorado a week or so ago after the owner got in an accident and was unable to find her.

After news spread in the local area people from all over were out looking for Monica Shields dog and finally one of the locals named Zach Kramer said the dog just jumped in his truck.

The HSPCA & Austin County Sheriff’s Rescued Thirty Seven Animals

Over and over we read about these animal breeders that have gone bad. This time it was a so called breeder from Bellville, TX that was raided by the Austin County Sheriff’s and the HSPCA.

After looking at the video you can see how bad this place was for these poor dogs to live in. How could anybody even live like this and make these dogs live like this too.

New Summary of Responses to the Consultation on Dangerous Dogs

Overwhelming Support For Deed Not Breed In Dangerous Dogs Consultation, UK

The government has published the results of the Defra consultation on dangerous dogs revealing overwhelming support for an overhaul of the failed Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.

The consultation closed in June and the British Veterinary Association (BVA) and British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA) submitted a joint response based on sound scientific evidence and expert veterinary opinion. The response called for an end to breed-specific legislation that targets dogs based on the way they look rather than their actions.

The BVA and BSAVA are delighted with the summary of the 4,250 responses published today that reveals:

- 88% of respondents do not believe that current legislation is effective in protecting the public;
- 71% believe that breed-specific legislation should be repealed;
- 84% are in favour of all dogs being microchipped.

Commenting, Harvey Locke, President of the BVA, said:

"There is enormous support amongst experts in dog health and welfare for an end to the failed breed-specific legislation.

"The Coalition Government's programme promised to take action on dangerous dogs and Ministers must now take on board the strong views from this consultation to implement changes.

"The problems caused by dangerous dogs impact on public safety and animal welfare and maintaining the status quo is not an option."

Grant Petrie, President of BSAVA, added:

"The problem of dangerous dogs will not be solved until the government accepts that the Dangerous Dogs Act has failed. This view is supported by the thousands of responses to the consultation.

"The support for repeal of the Act and for compulsory microchipping of dogs are clear and we look forward to hearing Defra's plans in the New Year."

The consultation sought views on seven possible options:

An extension of the criminal law (ie section 3 of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991) to all places, including private property;
2.
Additions or amendments to (including possible repeal of) section 1 of 1991 Act (breed specific legislation);

Repeal of the Dangerous Dogs (Amendment) Act 1997 to prevent any more dogs being added to the Index and introducing a mandatory destruction order;
4.
The introduction of Dog Control Notices;

A requirement that all dogs are covered by third-party insurance;

A requirement that all dogs, or puppies, are microchipped; and
7.
More effective enforcement of the existing law, including a consolidation of existing statutes into one new updated Act.


To facilitate comments, the consultation asked forty questions about the seven options.

New Kennel Club Breeding Rules

Vets Asked To Report Caesarean Operations

Veterinary associations are asking vets to start reporting caesarean operations to the Kennel Club in the new year as part of the profession's commitment to improving dog health and welfare.

The Kennel Club (KC) has announced that from January 2012 it will no longer register any puppies born by caesarean section from a bitch that has had two previous caesarean operations. The British Veterinary Association (BVA) and British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA) are now calling on vets in practice to engage with the new reporting system that will be put in place next year ahead of the rule change.

The change has come about following discussions between the Kennel Club, RCVS, BVA and BSAVA. Vets are being asked to report caesarean operations in the same way as the current reporting system for procedures altering the natural conformation of a dog.

In addition, the Kennel Club is amending its rules to make it a condition of registration, or continued registration, that the owner consents to the reporting, to the Kennel Club, of any caesarean operation carried out on their bitch (subject to approval by the KC General Committee on 4th January 2011).

Although the move is welcome the BVA and BSAVA are very disappointed that the KC has not gone further. Both organisations lobbied strongly for KC to stop registering puppies from a bitch that has undergone one caesarean operation, with no exceptions, and will continue to push for this rule change.

The BVA and BSAVA are also concerned about the get-out clause in the KC rules which will allow exceptions for "scientifically proven welfare reasons". The organisations believe that this is an ill-defined term that could be open to abuse and that there should be no exceptions.

In addition the BVA and BSAVA are also calling for the compulsory microchipping of the sire, dam and puppies to confirm the identity of any animal subject to a reporting form as well as improving traceability, which will assist with research into hereditary diseases.

Commenting on the changes, Harvey Locke, President of the BVA, said:

"We are pleased to report that the BVA, BSAVA, Kennel Club and RCVS have come together to tackle the worrying problem of breeding bitches undergoing several caesarean operations and we hope that these measures will start to deter breeders from mating animals where the breeding is likely to rely on caesareans.

"But this will only work if vets engage with the new system. We are urging all vets in practice to make use of the new reporting procedures that will be put in place next year to help safeguard dog health and welfare in the future.

"We remain disappointed that the rule changes do not yet go far enough and that they are not being brought in earlier. The sooner we can start to tackle these major health and welfare problems, the better."

Grant Petrie, President of BSAVA, added:

"No bitch should be expected to go through the trauma of a caesarean operation more than once. These rule changes are not perfect but they are a step in the right direction and we will continue to lobby the Kennel Club to tighten up its registration rules further.

"Responsible breeders do understand the need to look after the health and welfare of both the puppies and their parents. As veterinary surgeons we must encourage the responsible breeders and deter the irresponsible."

Notes

1. The rule changes are the result of meetings between the BVA, BSAVA, Kennel Club and RCVS.

2. The agreed new form 'veterinary report of a caesarean operation on a bitch and/or a procedure altering the natural conformation of a dog' will be made available on the BVA website and the Kennel Club website.

3. The RCVS is amending Advice Note 29 under the Guide to Professional Conduct on Reporting to the Kennel Club to account for these changes.

4. Kennel Club members will be informed of the change to registration rules. The rule on limiting the number of caesareans will come into force in January 2012. The changes that give consent to veterinary surgeons to report will be discussed at a meeting of the Kennel Club General Committee on January 4th 2011.

Dog Beating And Dog Rescue’s

Can you imagine someone hitting your dog with a pipe, well an animal abuser named Jeremy Scott Hawkins from Greensboro, NC did that to a woman’s German Shepherd.

Hawkins has been charged with felony animal cruelty for what he did to this dog. I hope he gets what’s coming to him.

The Troy, NY police are looking for the owners of nine pit bulls that were found in the basement of an apartment building that was on fire.

Troy Police Cpt. John Cooney said: Detectives are trying to locate the tenant of the basement apartment at 2275 Fifth Ave., where they found the caged pit bulls with injuries consistent with fighting, as well as neck weights and a spiked collar.

I hope they find this animal abuser and hit him with the book.

With two different raids taken place in Berrien and Cook counties in Georgia the authorities were able to rescue one hundred and ten pit bulls that were used for fighting.

I would say that, that was a great day for all of those involved in rescuing these dogs.

Over in Pope County, AR a animal shelter had to have one hundred and twenty dogs removed by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Best Friends Animal Society. Apparently the shelter that was run by volunteer’s had become overcrowded and the place was unsanitary.

Thirty four pit bulls that were up for adoption down in Texas had to be put down because no one would adopt these dog that were given up by Kevin Muckleroy following the death of a child by a pit bull.

I would first like to know why this guy had so many pit bulls to begin with, because now these poor dogs have lost their life.

Remember the dog abuser named Phillip Rinn from Illinois who made headlines for dragging his dog then running the poor dog over. Well this dog abuser is at it again and this time he beat his dog so bad that he broke the dog’s teeth.
