The dog dumper has finally been caught and his name is George Atalay from Caldwell,NJ. The Passaic County’s Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has charged the bum for dumping his dog who just had babies.
Now the guy is saying he left the dog with a friend while he went to get some dog food. Ya... right... say anything to try and get out of this one... If the guy wasn't lying he would have went and got his dogs from the shelter... I hope the judge hits him hard on the twenty charges that he is facing...

371 American Eskimo Dogs In Need Of A Home
The Humane Society and a few local animal shelters will be needing your help in finding homes for these American Eskimo dogs that were taken from a puppy mill raid at the Sun Valley Kennel in Kennewick, Wash..
After reading a few articles from this area it’s seems like Washington was trying to become the new puppy mill state.
So if you are looking to rescue one of these cute little dogs you can try the Lynnwood animal shelter and possibly the Stanwood's NOAH and the Everett Animal Shelter.
Read the article by Jackson Holtz here.
Here is an update on the puppy mill raid that happened back in January outside of Gold Bar, Washington.
The Snohomish County Judge has allowed a video that was taken by a Snohomish County deputy that showed some horrifying pictures of dogs that were frozen in the freezer and the conditions that these poor Chihuahuas, Pugs and Terriers had to live in.
After looking at this video it just makes me sick to think about how many other dogs over the years were treated like by Jason & Serenna Larsen who ran this puppy mill.

Ellen DeGeneres Fulfills Kids Request To Help Feed The Dogs
A group of fifth graders from Dover, NH middle school got together to help support their local animal shelter Cocheco Valley Humane Society help feed the dogs were amazed by the offer they received.
The fifth graders wrote a letter to Ellen DeGeneres in support for their local shelter and they received a reply from Ellen’s who is a co owner of a dog food company called Halo’s CEO Steve Marton offering two thousand dollars worth of dog food.
These little kids from the Dover middle school are earning all kinds of money to help the shelter feed the dogs during these hard times. It’s so nice to read about the love and teamwork that is being put to work with these kids. I’ll bet that the dogs are Grateful for all they have done too.
Thanks Ellen & Steve for helping these kids fulfill their quest.

Who Dump A Dog With Her Nine Puppies
That’s what the Passaic County Police in NJ would like to know. Somebody just dumped off their poor dog that just gave birth to nine little baby’s in park area called Garret Mountain Reservation.
How sick is that for someone to just discard their dog like that, why didn’t they at least bring the dog to a shelter if they were unable to care for the dogs. The article states that this place seems to be a dumping ground for dogs.
What’s wrong with dog owners, all you have to do is bring your dog to a shelter. I hope the catch this person and make they pay for this cruel act for abandoning the dogs.

K- 9 Officer Leaves His Dog In The Car Which Resulted In Death
You would think that a K-9 police officer would have enough sense and training to know not to leave his partner in the car, let alone for a little over three hours. Well the poor dog had died as a result of this officer’s stupidity.
As a result of this officer from Alameda, Ca the district attorney now has to decide if they will file charges against this officer. I would think that the officer was in neglect of his duties for leaving his partner locked up in the car for so long.
The real question is why was the dog taken to the training exercise knowing that he would have to leave him in the car and the other question is then why wasn’t the dog taken inside the training area?

Mississippi Dog Ring Bust
A Dog fighting ring has been busted in Bassfield, Miss. with about eight people being arrested and more to come.
There was a report saying that five dogs were found with injuries when they raided the house and were taken to the Jackson Animal Rescue League. With so many cars from different states this must have been one organized group of thugs who gets off on watching poor animals ripe each other apart.

Even The Dogs Face Hard Times
First there’s a police dog named Copper who’s a mixed Labrador that had to retire due to his medical problems and at first it was “ what are we going to do with the dog”.Good thing one of the officers adopted the dog before he was euthanized.
Then you have another K-9 dog named Huka who had to finally retire that went out with an Honor for his services.
Now it comes down to the worst part of a dogs job to be laid off due to cut backs. A German Shepherd named Nitro just didn’t fit in the towns budget even when his partner offered to donate his own time.
Life is hard for these guys too just like us, you never know what awaits down the road.
Then you read an article about someone stealing dog statues that are on exhibit Honoring the Purdue Veterinary Medicine Department for a fund raiser. Now if that isn’t low to steal from a fund raiser.
We dog lovers know how honored we are to are pets for all they give to us, it’s nice to know that they will always love us back.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- Franklin, Tennessee (May 21, 2009) -- Today, Nutro Products announced a voluntary recall of select varieties of NUTRO® NATURAL CHOICE® COMPLETE CARE® Dry Cat Foods and NUTRO® MAX® Cat Dry Foods with “Best If Used By Dates” between May 12, 2010 and August 22, 2010. The cat food is being voluntarily recalled in the United States and ten additional countries. This recall is due to incorrect levels of zinc and potassium in our finished product resulting from a production error by a US-based premix supplier.
Two mineral premixes were affected. One premix contained excessive levels of zinc and under-supplemented potassium. The second premix under-supplemented potassium. Both zinc and potassium are essential nutrients for cats and are added as nutritional supplements to NUTRO® dry cat food.
This issue was identified during an audit of our documentation from the supplier. An extensive review confirmed that only these two premixes were affected. This recall does not affect any NUTRO® dog food products, wet dog or cat food, or dog and cat treats.
Affected product was distributed to retail customers in all 50 states, as well as to customers in Canada, Mexico, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, New Zealand, and Israel. We are working with all of our distributors and retail customers, in both the US and internationally, to ensure that the recalled products are not on store shelves. These products should not be sold or distributed further.
Consumers who have purchased affected product should immediately discontinue feeding the product to their cats, and switch to another product with a balanced nutritional profile. While we have received no consumer complaints related to this issue, cat owners should monitor their cat for symptoms, including a reduction in appetite or refusal of food, weight loss, vomiting or diarrhea. If your cat is experiencing health issues or is pregnant, please contact your veterinarian.
Consumers who have purchased product affected by this voluntary recall should return it to their retailer for a full refund or exchange for another NUTRO® dry cat food product. Another Dog Volunteer Foster Has Been Charged
A dog rescue volunteer named Terri Palmer-Roby’s had her house raided yesterday by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement after an investigation leading up to a startling find of ninety two chow-chows being found in her house.
It was no daycare for these poor dogs when the crew of Police and Humane reps found that two of the dogs were dead and two more dogs were so bad that they had to be put down. The living conditions were so bad where some of the dogs had open wounds and some were dealing with starvation and other illnesses.
It hard to read an article like this when you really think that these people are helping a rescue shelter try and save an animal but really they are sentencing the animal to a long death instead.
Kerry Flanagan of the Humane League of Lancaster County said; She was good at avoidance and Some shelters sent her dogs as recently as two weeks ago, but we stopped sending her dogs about six months ago when we first heard complaints from her neighbors. We tried to investigate, but she wouldn't allow us access to her property at the time. She showed our officer some of the dogs, but we didn't have grounds to get a warrant.
So should there be some kind of law that will make it more manageable to keep track of these foster homes. You would think that the Humane and Rescue shelters would have a right to go and inspect the animals at any giving time, but I guess not. So once again he is another bad case on the record. Don’t get me wrong there are a lot of animal fosters people that are great at doing their work it just a few that make it look bad for them.

Today’s Animal Cruelty Stories
Do you remember the lowlife who dragged his dog who was tied to the back of his pickup truck until he died back in March 2008? Well Mercer County Circuit Court Judge William Sadler had an easy day with the dog killer Daniel W. Dobos because it only took fifteen minutes to convict Daniel for animal cruelty which is a felony in West Virginia.
So now Daniel will be serving one to five years behind bars for not only killing his dog but all the abuse that was done over time.
I feel so bad for what this poor dog went though from this lowlife. I only wish that someone would have reported the abuse when it first started. So if you suspect someone of abusing their pet you should call the animal control at least to be safe before anything more happens to the animal, you just might save their life.
Read the article by Greg Jordan here.
Over in New Bedford, Massachusetts a couple named Jenny Torres and Jimmy Correa have been charged with two counts of felonies for cruelty to animals for throwing their little Chihuahua Princess out the window of their car.
Good thing that these two were dumb because they came back to where they threw the little dog out and bystanders were able to get their licenses plate number.
The animal Control Director Emanual Maciel has taken the dog to the Forever Paws Animal Shelter in Fall River where she will be put up for adoption.

So Is Your Pet Foster Family Really Up To the Job?
Well just ask Evelyn Mangano from the Save Animals From Euthanasia, she thought that a guy named Dennis Lee was a good volunteer foster to help rescue some of her dogs until she found out what was really going on.
The guy Dennis Lee had about forty dogs at his place and would always keep telling Evelyn that thing were OK until they had to go to his house and found what was a nightmare from hell. Two of the dogs had died due to fighting and two more had to be put down and the living conditions were unacceptable.
Evelyn Mangano said; I feel terrible. I feel like he betrayed me. He told me that he was taking good care of them, that he walked them all the time. He gave me such a line of bull. I'm so depressed. I cried today when I came back and looked at the kennels, I started crying. We're trying to save these dogs. They were going to be euthanized at the pound.
I feel real bad for these poor dogs and for Evelyn too who put her trust in this guy while trying to help the cause of saving these dogs.

So No Dogs Were Thrown Out The Window On Interstate 77
No we were all lied to.
A Humane Society officer from the Parkersburg, WV area named Steven Whitehair has been accused of making up the story that someone threw seven puppies and a dog out of a truck window.
Now why in the world would anybody stoop so low to make up a story like that. So when the police looked into the story they were unable to find any info or even the dogs that were supposedly throw out on the highway. Now it has comes down to Steven Whitehair being charged with obstruction and falsely reporting an emergency.
To top it off alls Steven wanted to do was to get so publicity for his Humane Society. I don’t know about you but there are many of other ways to do that. To think of the embarrassment the Humane Society and this guy will have to live with is going to be rough.
We all know that these groups and shelters need all of our help in this time and age. It’s hard enough to read about the real stories of animals being left on the side of the road or being locked in a vacated home. So why are there people trying to make up stories when there are so many real ones that are heart breaking.

The Way You Train Your Dog Has To Do With Dog Biting?
Experts Agree Dog Whispering Results in Bites
Dog training and behavior experts agree the popular dominance-based methods employed and recommended by many dog trainers featured on television result in an increased risk of dog bites.
Halifax, Nova Scotia (PRWEB) May 15, 2009 -- As Dog Bite Prevention week is recognized across the United States, one of the contributing factors to this seeming epidemic may require Americans turn off their TVs.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, close to five million Americans are bitten by dogs annually with approximately 1,000 people requiring emergency medical attention every day. A key factor in aggressive dog behavior is the way they are trained. Experts agree the dominance-based techniques often used on popular programs increase the risk of aggression and dog bites. Adina MacRae, President of the Clicker Leash Co., inventor of a new positive dog training tool, says this is why she brought her humane training system to market. "I have seen first-hand the results of dominance-based training methods and they can be scary," says MacRae. "The majority of dogs bite out of fear and the techniques you see on most television shows are designed to suppress undesirable behaviors with scare tactics." MacRae, a dog trainer known for using positive reinforcement to help dogs overcome aggression, noticed as the popularity of dominance-based training grew, she was getting more calls about growling, snapping and biting dogs. She points to the disconnect that often occurs when people try to take on an "alpha" role instead of being a guardian to their companion animals resulting in dogs becoming defensive.
MacRae is not alone in her experience. Most recently, the journal of Applied Animal Behaviour Science published the results of a year-long University of Pennsylvania study illustrating the risks of aggressive training. It was discovered that "alpha rolls," where dogs are rolled onto their backs and held there, and "dominance downs," where dogs are physically forced onto their sides, resulted in an aggressive response from at least 25 per cent of the surveyed group.
The study's findings are backed by a 2008 American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB) position statement on the use of dominance in animal training. The AVSAB recommends veterinarians not refer patients to trainers who adhere to dominance hierarchy theory and the confrontational training that typically results. The society went on to recommend the use of positive reinforcement to safely train animals. Joan Orr of Doggone Safe, a non-profit organization dedicated to dog bite prevention through education, recommends clicker training as a hands-off way of training a dog while reducing the risk of bites.

National Dog Bite Prevention
Famed Hollywood Dog Trainer and Lassie Descendant Unleash National Dog Bite Prevention Week, May 14
Postal Service, American Veterinary Medical Assn., American Academy of Pediatrics, Unite to Prevent Dog Bites
WASHINGTON, May 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A famed Hollywood dog trainer and a descendant of one of the world's most popular dogs are teaming with the United States Postal Service and other partners to bring attention to a major campaign in America: Dog bite prevention.
Hollywood trainer Bob Weatherwax, son of Rudd Weatherwax, who established the famous "Lassie" line of collies appearing in the classic television series, will today join postal officials and representatives of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) to kick off the 2009 National Dog Bite Prevention Week.
Weatherwax will use Laddie, a ninth-generation direct descendant of the original collie, Pal, who immortalized the "Lassie Come Home" MGM films of the 1940s, to demonstrate how to properly react around dogs during a National Dog Bite Prevention Week press conference today at 10:30 a.m. PT at the Whittier Post Office in Whittier, CA. National Dog Bite Prevention Week runs May 17-23.
It's estimated that 4.7 million people are bitten by dogs every year. One of the saddest aspects of this crisis is that most, if not all, dog bites are entirely preventable through training, proper control of dogs, and education. Children are the most common victims, followed by older people and postal employees.
"Responsible dog ownership is the key to responsible dogs," said Weatherwax. "National Dog Bite Prevention Week is a valuable campaign that will heighten awareness and educate the public about responsible dog ownership. I applaud all the organizations leading this important mission."
"Employee and customer safety are always our number-one concern," said Postal Service Vice President and Consumer Advocate Delores J. Killette. "National Dog Bite Prevention Week is one of our most important campaigns to help our employees and customers remain safe when they come in contact with man's best friend."
The Postal Service offers the following tips:
How to Avoid Being Bitten
* Don't run past a dog. The dog's natural instinct is to chase and catch prey.
* If a dog threatens you, don't scream. Avoid eye contact. Try to remain motionless until the dog leaves, then back away slowly until the dog is out of sight.
* Don't approach a strange dog, especially one that's tethered or confined.
* While letter carriers are discouraged from petting animals, people who choose to pet dogs should always let a dog see and sniff them before petting the animal.
* If you believe a dog is about to attack you, try to place something between yourself and the dog, such as a backpack or a bicycle.
How to Be a Responsible Dog Owner
* Obedience training can teach dogs proper behavior and help owners control their dogs.
* When a carrier comes to your home, keep your dog inside, away from the door in another room.
* Don't let your child take mail from the carrier in the presence of your dog. Your dog's instinct is to protect the family.
* Spay or neuter your dog. Neutered dogs are less likely to bite.
* Dogs that receive little attention or handling, or are left tied up for long periods of time, frequently turn into biters.
"Approximately half of the 800,000 Americans who receive medical attention for dog bites each year are children," says Dr. James O. Cook, AVMA president. "Through increased education and other efforts, these incidents are largely preventable. That's why National Dog Bite Prevention Week and prevention programs are so important. Prevention and education are a true cure for dog bites."
"Pediatricians treat children with dog bites every day, and some are quite serious. These incidents can be dramatically reduced if children and parents know what to do," says AAP President David T. Tayloe, Jr., MD, FAAP.
"Children are frequently bitten on the face, which can result in severe lacerations, infection or scarring," said American Society of Plastic Surgeons President John Canady, MD. "Plastic surgeons, who have the training to preserve and rearrange skin and tissue, performed more than 16,000 reconstructive surgeries after dog bites last year. Following these dog bite prevention tips and educating the public will help prevent attacks."
Other partners of 2009 National Dog Bite Prevention Week include the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons (ASMS), the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery (ASRM) and Prevent the Bite.
To help educate the public about dog bites, the AVMA has developed a brochure, "What you should know about dog bite prevention," offering tips on how to avoid being bitten, what dog owners can do to prevent their dogs from biting and how to treat dog bites.
Such tips include: Pick a dog that is a good match for your home. Consult your veterinarian for details. Socialize your pet. Avoid aggressive games with your dog. To access the brochure online, visit www.avma.org/press/publichealth/dogbite/mediakit.asp.

They Were Suppose To Rescue The Dogs, Not Kill Have Them Killed
You would think that a place that calls themselves a rescue place would have an honor to take care of the pets. Well a rescue group from Nashville, Teen. Has been duping all the people that had dropped off their dogs thinking they were going to find them a new home.
How low can you go when you not only tell a person that you will find their pet a home but you charge them knowing that you will be dumping the dogs (two hundred and sixty one) off to the pound where they will be killed. What a scam to pull off on heartbroken people that probably had a hard enough time just handing the dog over to begin with thinking that at least they will have a new home, then to read about this.
The police said that they were unable to charge them, so maybe we all should let the world know who they are.

So Whose Going To Win This Year’s Dogs Of Valor
Here’s your chance to vote on one of fifteen dogs in this year’s Dogs of Valor finalist that is being held by the Humane Society and sponsored by PetPlan Pet Insurance.
This year on May 15th we will know who was the real hero dog of the year. With some many dogs to choose from it was a little hard for me to vote. But I went for Baby C who had showed the comfort and love that only a dog can give when things go wrong. Yes he was a true hero that day.
So who are you going to pick?
Vote Here and get a chance at winning a signed drawing by Ron Burns and a Sirius.

Bark Busters Offers Free Dog Safety Workshops, an Online Public Service Program for Children and Bite Prevention Tips to Promote Dog Safety
Englewood, CO (PRWEB) May 11, 2009 -- As part of its ongoing commitment to keep pets and people safe, Bark Busters, the world's largest dog training company, will give free dog safety workshops for community-based organizations. Additionally, Bark Busters is offering the Bach & Buster Buddy Dog Safety Program™, a unique online public service program designed to help educate children about dog safety and bite prevention. These free community-based programs are part of a nationwide effort by the 250+ Bark Busters dog behavioral therapists across the country in for National Dog Bite Prevention Week (May 17-23).
"Part of our mission at Bark Busters is to help keep people and their canine friends safe," Liam Crowe, CEO and master dog behavioral therapist, Bark Busters USA. "We understand that dog bites are a serious matter, and we believe that more public education, such as the free community workshops we offer, can help prevent the situations that lead to dog bites."
Free Dog Safety Workshops
Each year on average, nearly five million Americans are bitten by dogs--and more than 40 percent of these are children bitten by their family dog. Of those injured, nearly 400,000 require treatment in a hospital resulting, on average, 12 deaths per year. To combat such startling statistics, Bark Busters is offering free dog safety workshops to community-based organizations. Hosted by Bark Busters' dog behavioral therapists, these free community workshops will give participants dog-safety tips while helping them understand how to communicate more effectively with dogs by using voice control and body language. Community-based organizations interested in learning more about dog safety, the canine psyche or pack law are invited to contact their local Bark Busters trainer to schedule a free workshop anytime throughout the year.
Free Online Dog Safety Program for Children
Developed specifically for school-age children, the Bach & Buster Buddy Dog Safety Program provides fun, interactive dog safety activities online. Bark Busters wants to educate children and adults on how to stop dog bites before they happen by making the right decisions around familiar and unfamiliar dogs. Through the Bach & Buster Buddy Dog Safety Program, kids can learn what to do and what not to do around dogs in order to prevent dog bites across the nation. To participate in the Bach & Buster Buddy Dog Safety Program visit: www.BarkBustersBuddy.com.
Bark Busters offers the following tips for preventing dog bites and dog-related injuries:
How to Stay Safe When a Dog Approaches
* Don't turn and run--dogs naturally love to chase and catch things.
* Stand still, with your hands at your sides. In most cases, the dog will go away when it determines you are not a threat.
* Don't put your hand out--just allow the dog to approach you to sniff you.
* Don't scream. If you say anything, speak calmly and firmly.
* Face the dog at all times, but don't stare. Avoid eye contact.
* Back away slowly, watching the dog from the corner of your eye, until the dog is out of sight.
Safety Tips for Parents
* Never leave a young child or baby alone with any dog.
* Never allow your young child to discipline a dog.
* Never allow your child to feed or walk a dog unsupervised.
* Never allow your child to pull on a dog's collar, ears or tail.
* Never allow your child to play aggressive games (like wrestling) with any dog.
* Never allow your child to pet a dog that is in someone else's car or truck.
Bark Busters dog behavioral therapists are renowned authorities in the area of correcting dog behavior. The Australian training system can successfully train any dog, any age--including puppies. 200 Plus Dog's Get A Second Life
200 Dogs Begin New Lives Following Puppy Mill Rescue
More than 200 dogs that have lived their lives confined in cages have a new lease on life today after a weekend journey from puppy mills in Missouri thanks to a joint rescue effort by National Mill Dog Rescue of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Best Friends Animal Society of Kanab, Utah. As part of Best Friends' "Pup My Ride" program, the dogs were transported to safety at North Shore Animal League America in Port Washington, N.Y.
Port Washington, N.Y. (Vocus/PRWEB ) May 11, 2009 -- Two hundred cast-off puppy mill dogs from Missouri are safe today after being delivered to local rescue groups in the New York area. Best Friends Animal Society, in collaboration with National Mill Dog Rescue, arranged for the release and transport of the dogs and after a long, but hopeful cross-country journey over the Mother's Day weekend, they were delivered this morning to waiting groups here at North Shore Animal League America.
In addition to North Shore Animal League America, representatives from four animal welfare organizations were ready and waiting as the dogs were delivered to the Animal League complex: Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, Wainscott, N.Y.; Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter, East Hanover, N.J.; Noah's Ark Animal Welfare Association, Ledgewood, N.J.; St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center, Madison, N.J.
Among the rescued dogs are adults that were used for breeding, adolescents and puppies, including various breeds such as cocker spaniels, chihuahuas, mini pinchers, Jack Russell terriers and poodle mixes. Dogs like these, considered used up or unsalable by large commercial breeders, are typically killed or sold at mill dog auctions for as little as 25 cents. Instead, these dogs will get a new chance for happy lives and made available for adoption from local area rescue groups.
Joanne Yohannan, senior vice president of operations for the Animal League, said that the rescued animals remaining at the facility would be given time to settle in, and be fed and hydrated after their long journey.
"We first must get the dogs feeling safe and comfortable in their new environment," Ms. Yohannan said. "Then our staff experts will begin the process of evaluating each animal. This includes medical examinations, behavioral evaluation to determine their emotional and psychological status and grooming, which will help make them feel and look better. These dogs will experience the nurturing and the warmth of human contact they have been deprived of all their lives to prepare them for adoption into the loving homes they deserve."
"Rather than being needlessly killed because they were no longer wanted by their breeders, some beautiful dogs are about to begin a new and exciting phase of their lives," said Kelli Ohrtman, campaign specialist for Best Friends Animal Society, which funded the rescue of the dogs to the New York area through its "Pup My Ride" transportation program.
Teresa Strader, director of National Mill Dog Rescue, based in Colorado Springs, Colo., said the collaborative nature of the rescue is a direct indication of the growing network of rescue organizations across the country with an interest in putting an end to current commercial dog breeding practices.
"This effort will make a life-changing difference for some 200 dogs and the people lucky enough to adopt them," Strader said. "But it is estimated that there more than one million dogs held captive in puppy mills today and we ask people to never forget the victims left behind."
The rescue and transport of the dogs is part of Best Friends Animal Society's "Puppies Aren't Products" national campaign (puppiesarentproducts.com), which targets the retail end of the puppy mill industry through informational demonstrations at puppy emporiums. Launched in Los Angeles last year, the peaceful pet store demonstrations have succeeded in convincing stores to adopt a humane business model that relies on the sale of pets from rescue groups and shelters rather than dogs from puppy mills. The campaign is being expanded nationally to help unsuspecting consumers become aware of the cruelty behind many dogs offered for retail sale.
"Puppy mill dogs comprise a significant percentage of the 4-5 million pets that die in American shelters annually", said Ohrtman. "The mission of Best Friends Animal Society is to bring about a time when there are no more homeless pets. It's what the public wants and the pet trade industry must change dramatically or it will become a relic of the past."
Ms. Yohannan said that the Animal League will announce later in the week when the animals will be available for adoption and advised interested individuals to visit the Animal League website, www.AnimalLeague.org for details.
"Once our staff experts have determined that the dogs are ready for adoptions we will be eager to find the perfect homes for each and every one of these wonderful dogs," said Ms. Yohannan.

The Challenge Is On; Who's The Better Dog Trainer
Phoenix Dog Training Guru Fixes Problems That Cesar Millan, Dog Whisperer Fails At; TLC K9 Academy Director Bill Glatzel Issues the $5000.00 Charity Dog Training Challenge
Arizona Dog Training Guru, and Phoenix Dog Trainer, Bill Glatzel, Dog Behaviorist and Professional Dog Trainer, and Puppy Trainer of TLC K9 ACADEMY is the Real Dog Whisperer, and Fixes Phoenix Dog Obedience Problems that Cesar Milan is unable to fix.
Phoenix, Arizona (PRWEB) May 9, 2009 -- Arizona Dog Training Guru, and Phoenix Dog Trainer, Bill Glatzel, Dog Behaviorist and Professional Dog Trainer, and Puppy Trainer of TLC K9 ACADEMY is the Real Dog Whisperer, and Fixes Phoenix Dog Obedience Problems that Cesar Milan is unable to fix.
Bill was born and raised with wolves, or so we think, either that or he must have canine DNA in his blood! He has a passion for dog behavior. "K9 Guru," "Amazing," a "Magician," the "Real" Dog Whisperer, Dog whispering, these are just some of the words dog owners have used to describe the magic, ease, and rapport, when seeing Bill connect with animals. One person accused Bill of using some form of "Hypnosis," to put a dog into a trance. The amazing connection Bill has with animals can look magical, and his ability to tap into the minds and behavior of dogs and puppies seems at times to be hypnotic. Whatever the magic, Bill has been "Dancing with Dogs," since 1976, for over 33 years. He has frequently been called in as a consultant when other notable trainers like Ceaser Millan, the dog whisperer have not had success. "We get a couple of Ceaser's clients each year. We provide the best most comprehensive dog training and puppy training anywhere. We take dog training to a whole new level!" There is a science and an art to training a dog, or training puppies.
At the young age of 10, Bill was competing, showing and titling dogs in AKC Dog Obedience Matches. Bill's Formal education rests in both Undergraduate and Graduate Work in Psychology and other Behavior Science Disciplines. He has also worked as a Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist, counseling Children, Families and Adults. Bill is 1 of Only 2 Applied Animal Behaviorists in the entire State of Arizona. In order to be an Applied Animal Behaviorist one has had to do graduate Level (Masters) or (Doctorate) Clinical/Applied Research and Field Training. Not just a Master Dog Trainer, but also a Behavioral Scientist specializing in Behavioral Medicine in Small Animals, Bill Glatzel and the TLC K9 Method of Dog training have turned the dog training profession upside-down. "Traditional leash and collar training uses correction and punishment to force a dog into compliance, says Glatzel; this is unfortunate because dogs love to please their human partners when the relationship is right. The TLC K9 Method of Dog Training uses the principles of Operant and Classical Conditioning and the latest advances in canine learning theory to combine both the Science and Art of teaching dogs and the human partners. "Treat training has one very big limitation; dogs won't perform when the distraction is more interesting than the treat. In our training program we don't use treats; we don't use force, correction or punishment. All TLC K9 Academy dogs learn to be extremely reliable and listen off-leash under the heaviest of distractions. No dog is properly trained until it can behave off-leash with intense distractions. That is what you get with TLC K9 dog training and puppy training." "If you need a leash to control your dog, your dog is not trained. You, the other animal holding the leash are trained to RESTRAIN your dog ...NOT THE DOG!
"Our dog training and puppy training methods are Force-Free, Gentle, Fun, and Guaranteed for the Life of your Dog!" We employ positive reinforcement dog training, clicker training at times, and other dog training equipment may be used. A World Renowned Dog Trainer and Professional Animal and Dog Behaviorist, Phoenix Dog Trainer, Lecturer, Author, Celebrity Dog Trainer, and media/legal consultant, Bill enjoys dealing with dogs deemed "not trainable." "One thing Bill Glatzel is most proud of is how many dogs we have saved at TLC K9 Academy from Euthanasia. We have never had to tell a client to euthanize their dog. When other dog trainers tell owners to "put down" their dog or a Veterinarian says there is no hope, We Offer a Solution...We offer Hope. Bill Glatzel Specializes in the most difficult of Dog Behavior Problems, Extreme and Severe Anxiety disorders in dogs, ritualistic and obsessive compulsive dog problems. He is an Expert in Canine Behavioral Medicine- a passion of his since his son was mauled by a neighbors Pit Bull. "We offered free dog training tips to our Neighbor...they never took us up on it. My son's attack and dog bites could have been prevented...that Pit Bull did not have to die, (The owners euthanized their dog)" It is this attitude, that all dogs deserve dog training and his unmatched success with truly the most difficult of dog problems that gave TLC K9 Academy their Phoenix Dog Training catch phrase: "We can train ANY dog!" - Even yours!
Bill enjoys the company and working with his pack of 5 dogs, "Chip", a male Chocolate Labrador Retriever, "Hershey", a female Chocolate Labrador Retriever, "Nera", a female Belgian Malinois, "Lil' Dude," a male Jack Russell Terrier, and "Hogan," a male Queensland Healer, (his third foster child,) who had dog aggression issues towards children and adults. Bill currently is the Director of Phoenix Dog Training and lead Animal Behaviorist in Phoenix, Arizona for TLC K9 Academy. TLC K9 does in home dog training, dog training classes, dog behavior modification, puppy training, dog obedience, dog aggression, puppy potty training, therapy dog training, service dog training, and works with dog health problems. If you are looking for professional dog training, or training a dog, or to obtain a career in dog training, TLC K9 ACADEMY is the premier choice for dog training and the TLC K9 Academy School for Professional Dog Trainers is the number one choice for an education and

Petition For University Professor’s Dog Fails
It looks like Bill Palmer a professor from Marshall University in Huntington, W. Va., won’t be taken his Labrador Retriever named Nemo to school anymore. After all the work that was done by the students though a petition to allow Bill’s dog to go to school was knocked down.
It’s kind of funny that the University’s Chief of Staff Bill Bissett was against this petition, maybe because he was bitten once before.
Bill Bissett said; I'm sure many of us would like to take our animals to work, but this is a place where we have to think of the public good. You would think that after Bissett who has taken his dog for the last five to six years he would have been grandfathered in. What is this world coming to?

Canine Brucellosis Strikes A Puppy Farm In Offaly, Ireland
The Dublin Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals have confirmed the presence of Canine Brucellosis a potentially devastating outbreak of a virulent disease amongst animals. This disease can also affect humans which may cause serious liver impairment or arthritis.
The Chief Executive of Dublin SPCA Jimmy Cahill said; We are calling on the Department of Agriculture or Department of Environment to take immediate action and quarantine this puppy farm to prevent any further contamination of the canine population in this country. We anticipate that this breeder will start moving animals off his premises today thus escalating the spread of this virulent disease. Every hour increases the risk of a countrywide Canine Brucellosis epidemic. This health risk is an inevitable result of the antiquated legislation in this country which allows inhumane over-breeding to continue.
Chief Executive of the USPCA Stephen Philpott said; Puppy farming in Ireland, unlike most European countries, has no regulations governing its practice. In the absence of effective legislation in both the North and South the USPCA is constantly warning the puppy buying public of the pitfalls that can lurk in an apparently innocuous looking ad offering them the puppy of their dreams. This outbreak underlines our countless warnings; the puppy farming industry in Ireland, fuelled by greed, breeds both dogs and disease and must be properly regulated.
This doesn’t sound good for the dog breeders in that area due to this outbreak has no vaccine for a cure. There are about one thousand dogs at that puppy mill which makes it more possible to spread though out the area.

Some Upsetting Dog StoriesToday
I was looking for an article today when I came across one that said someone threw their dog out the window of a pickup truck on Highway US 41 in Outagamie County, Wisconsin.
Now how sick is that?
Then I came across one about a pit bull that was left tied up to a stop sign in Pocono Farms East, Coolbaugh Township in Pennsylvania.
Now I’m getting really upset after reading these two articles, it just makes me want to put a two by four across these lowlife’s heads.
Then I came across a sad article about a guy named Joshua Waynick who tried to save his dog when his house went on fire and was unable to save the dog or himself.
Yes that shows the true love for his dog and my Prayers go out to Waynick and his Family.
Here you have a guy who lost his life for his buddy and to read about the two other owners is real heart breaking. What has this world come to when people treat animals like trash? We just recently rescued two horses that were about to become puppy chow a few weeks ago and I will say that they were in bad shape. One of them still won’t let you go near her due to the abuse they received. It’s just like a dog that has been abused; you need to take time to show the love and trust for any animal that was treated like that.
There really needs to be new laws on the books that will make these people think twice before they abuse any animal in an inhumane way. It’s just a shame there are so many loop holes in our country that lets these people get away with anything.

We Need To Feed The Dog's
That’s what a little nine year old boy named Zach Wilson from Florida said; We need to feed the dog's. So little Zach and his mom started the animalpantry.org to help feed the dogs with the help of his friends they started to collect pet food to help families that are going through hard times feed their pets.
Zack has bigger dreams too when he said; Maybe we can get people all the food they need and supplies, and even vet care and other things people have a hard time affording.
Another great story that shows where the heart is for my buddies.
Read the article and see the video here.
Just think you too can start your own pantry for the animals that are in need too. The rewards will be overwhelming for the love and kindness that you put into it. And think of all the people and pets that will be touch from your kindness.
