There has been a report of an outbreak of
Parvovirus in Columbia and Lancaster City in recent weeks with a total of seven dogs that have died already.
A Veterinarian at the Manheim Pike Veterinary Hospital Dr. Jeffrey Steed said: It spreads by fecal oral contamination, the heat keeps it viable. It can't survive in the cold, plus people aren't out and about as much. The most common sign of parvo is bloody diarrhea and depression. If left untreated parvo will cause death in a few days, however, it is very preventable with vaccinations.
It’s always good to watch your dog and make sure they are up on their shots.
