Hey Dog Lovers: If Your In Knoxville, Tennessee See If You Can Make It To The K9 Cancer Walk

Pet Industry Innovator Sponsors K9 Cancer Walk in Knoxville

It's estimated that 50 percent of canines will develop cancer. In fact, cancer is the number one cause of death in dogs over the age of two. Having seen the effects cancer has had on the pet population on a local level, PetSafe – a leading innovator in pet behavior and lifestyle products – is sponsoring the first-ever Morris Animal Foundation K9 Cancer Walk in Knoxville.

All dog lovers and their dogs are invited to join the festivities on Sunday, September 18 at noon at the Cove at Concord Park. The event will benefit the Foundation's Canine Cancer Campaign, an initiative to fund research to prevent, treat and, ultimately, cure cancer in dogs.

Participants are encouraged to walk to celebrate canine life or walk in memory of dogs that have lost their battle with cancer. Two walking paths will be provided: a short course for cancer survivors and dogs that are not very active and a longer path for more active families and their pets.

Registration is now open. Additional event details, including information about our virtual Sit & Stay option, can be found at www.K9CancerWalk.org. Those interested in volunteering for this event should email Events@MorrisAnimalFoundation.org.

Companies interested in learning more about or promoting the event are invited to attend a breakfast hosted at PetSafe's headquarters, 10427 PetSafe Way, on July 7th at 8 a.m. Contact Laurie Macnair at lmacnair@petsafe.net to reserve your spot.
