And include another comment for your readers. Our QA person tells me that in the EU pet consumables are required to list "Not for human consumption" and that we'll probably see it here inside a few years. Thanks again for letting me post. :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8423831399498132910.post-8180112701596704532009-06-04T08:07:17.515-07:002009-06-04T08:07:17.515-07:00Thanks for being honest on your post about your co...Thanks for being honest on your post about your company on how they are using strict guidelines for their dog food. I would like to say again that I didn't say the treats were bad and I feel that you made my concern clear... I have three dogs and consider it very important to align myself with an organization that cares about animal health.

The reason we include those statements on our products is because it comes from a pet manufacturer that is not subject to the same facilities regulations as a human food producer. Essentially NOTHING that is not regulated by the FDA should claim it is okay for human consumption. We're simply more forthright about it that most companies. We are not mandated by regulatory bodies to include the statement. Having said that, we are audited regularly by our suppliers and maintain strict sanitation standards, etc. We just aren't subject to FDA guidelines and most dog manufacturers aren't.

It is easier for a small boutique manufacturer to say they are food grade but most people can't afford or sometimes find the products. Also, in this country, they can say they are certified but generally are still not FDA inspected.

We feel proud to have created an affordable, healthy alternative that isn't full of wheat and other grains that most companies use as cheap fillers. We are happy to send you a sample if you would like.

marketing@hbhpet.comAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8423831399498132910.post-8509758929286722572009-06-03T06:30:49.909-07:002009-06-03T06:30:49.909-07:00Well Anonymous, I didn't say that dogs wouldn&...Well Anonymous, I didn't say that dogs wouldn't love the treats, but the fact is if humans are unable to eat them then something doesn't sound right. And Jollie, I checked out your treats and as you said the price is a little more, but that the price you pay for a safe product for your dog. I think all dog food should be certified, to be safe as we know about all those recalls in the pass year. Thanks for your comments.Dogman2https://www.blogger.com/profile/00270279462044950020noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8423831399498132910.post-2098515219512874272009-06-03T02:35:56.585-07:002009-06-03T02:35:56.585-07:00We have a gourmet dog treat company in Australia w...We have a gourmet dog treat company in Australia www.jollie.com.au and all our ingredients and production procedures are certified at the same level as human food (in Australia is HACCP). We eat our treats all the time, they are totally safe for human consumption! Of course, its hard to source quality ingredients at a reasonable price, so our treats are at the premium end of the scale.Jolliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06966646644005861875noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8423831399498132910.post-81517663413192731662009-06-02T19:39:21.367-07:002009-06-02T19:39:21.367-07:00I received a sample - and my boxer loves them. Hope this helps your review.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
